Why Your Brand Is So Important
Your brand gives your audience a first impression of who you are. It is the face of your company. A Brand has evolved from just being a type of product manufactured by a particular company under a particular name, to an overall experience of a customer that distinguishes an organisation or product from its rivals in the eyes of the customer.* The key word here is experience. A customer’s impression of the brand determines if he identifies with the company, product or service and is part of who the customer wants to portray himself or herself as.
A brand is a very important and delicate thing. Damage the brand and sales will suffer. Effectively marketing a brand can result in positioning the company, product or service in people’s minds, creating a sense of security and familiarity in the quality of its offerings.
A brand can also portray the mood you wish to go for. Formal like Microsoft, playful like Wendy’s, innovative like Dyson, traditional like Coca Cola, etc.
From the name, logo, shapes, colors, style, fonts, graphics and tagline to the text, messages and content, a brand must make sense and portray the basic essence of the company, product or service. Think about your brand and ask yourself if it is modern, distinguishable, eye-catching? Does it say who you are? If it isn’t then it might be time to re-brand.
